Refund Policy

No refunds.
One real second chance.

Every Heartscript song is built by hand for one specific person — so we don't do cash refunds. What we do — and stake our reputation on — is rewriting the entire song, free, if the first one doesn't move them. You have 30 days from your order date to invoke it.

Our policy in plain words

Heartscript creates a fully custom song from your story. Because each song is digital and built specifically for one person, we do not offer cash refunds once your order has been placed.

What we offer instead is something we believe in more: one full re-creation of your song, free, if the first version doesn't feel right. You have 30 days from your order date to request it.

Why we work this way

#

The moment you place an order, we begin reading your story, writing lyrics, and assembling a team — a songwriter, a vocalist, a producer. Within hours, your song is no longer reversible work.

A cash refund would compensate you with money, but it wouldn't solve what went wrong. A re-creation will. So that's what we offer — a real second chance to make the song land.

How the free re-creation works

If your delivered song doesn't move you (or the person it's for), tell us within 30 days of your order date and we'll re-create it from scratch — new lyrics, new arrangement, new vocal take.

To request a re-creation:

  • Email hello@heartscript.in with your order reference (the IVN-… code from your confirmation).
  • Tell us, briefly, what didn't work — what felt off, what was missing, what would make it land.
  • We'll acknowledge within 24 hours and deliver the new version within 7 days (or 24 hours if your original order was Priority).

This is offered once per order. The re-creation itself is not eligible for a further re-creation or refund — that's our line, and we draw it gently.

When a cash refund does apply

There are a few specific cases where we will issue a full refund:

  • We genuinely can't deliver. If something on our end prevents us from producing your song — a studio issue, a vendor failure, a technical block — we'll refund the full amount.
  • Duplicate or fraudulent payment. If you were charged twice for the same order, or if your card was used without authorization (and the bank confirms it), we'll refund the duplicate or unauthorized charge.
  • Order placed in error within 1 hour. If you placed an order by accident and email us within 60 minutes — before our team has begun reading your story — we'll cancel and refund.

In each case, refunds are issued through Razorpay to your original payment method. They typically take 5–10 business days to appear, depending on your bank.

What's not eligible

To set fair expectations:

  • Requests made after 30 days from the order date.
  • Orders that have already used their free re-creation.
  • Dissatisfaction with the recipient's reaction (we can pour our hearts into the song, but their reaction belongs to them).
  • Changes you wanted but didn't share in your story (we work from what you give us — we can't guess at memories you didn't tell us).
  • Songs delivered exactly as specified and matching your story brief.

If you're unsure whether your situation qualifies, just email us. We'd rather have a real conversation than hide behind a policy.

Payment disputes & chargebacks

#

If you have a concern about a charge, please email us first — we resolve most issues within a day, and that's faster than any bank dispute process.

Filing a chargeback with your bank for an order that was delivered as agreed (or for which we've offered a re-creation) may delay resolution and result in our standing dispute with Razorpay, which doesn't help either of us. Please reach out first.

Cancelling before production

#

If you change your mind in the first hour after ordering, email us with your order reference. As long as our team hasn't started reading your story (we usually begin within an hour or two), we'll cancel and refund in full.

Changes to this policy

#

If we update this policy, we'll post the new version here and note the date below. The policy in effect at the time of your order is the one that applies to your order.
